Principal Sharon JohnsonYes, all of our hard work is beginning to payoff Our grade on the 2006 Florida Comprehensive Assessment Test (FCAT) was a "C." We are truly proud of the entire Brownsville family because this was a total community effort. All members of our learning community worked together to ensure students understood the significance of the FCAT, knew the standards and benchmarks measured by it, and displayed the concentration need to do well. As a result of our grade, people are talking about us from Tallahassee to Key West because now we have proven that our children, once focused, can compete with anyone. Our task is to build upon the success of last year and increase the level of achievement needed to be the "A" or "B" we have within. We must also keep our students focused and work together for all to see we can excel academically. Brownsville Middle has established a fine reputation of helping students to reach their potential. We have a dedicated staff of professionals, who are enthusiastic and determined to establish a climate of excellence that is second to none. |

Assistant Principal Erica Paramore-RespressIt's no use saying, We are doing our best. You have got to succeed in doing what is necessary. Yes we are the school that made the grade, but now is not the time to sit back and take it easy. We must do what is necessary to get to the next level. We have not yet done the best that we can do. Welcome back to all of our returning 7th and 8th grade students, and a special welcome to our in coming 6th graders. My name is Ms. Respress and I am the eighth grade Assistant Principal. Even though I deal primarily with the eighth grade students, I am here for all students that require my assistant. I am very excited about being here this year so that I may assist Brownsville Middle in achieving our full potential. Parents, Students and the community we need your support in the endeavor. I am looking forward to a year filled with success for both students and teachers. Please keep two things in mind. Positivism is the key to success and keep your eyes on the Prize. Teachers your prize is the students and students your prize is your successful achievement this school year. |
