Medical and Allied Health
Brownsville Middle School is proud to offer the only medical and allied health magnet program in middle school within all of the Dade County Public School System. Here, students receive an introduction to health care, including medical ethics, consumerism, characteristics of health care workers, and community health agencies. They will be taught basic computer literacy, medical abbreviations and terminology, and laboratory activities.
The allied health portion of this program exposes students to the many different professions available in the health care field. Students will learn such basics as: CPR and first aid, patient diet planning, wound care, temperature measurement, blood pressure tests and much more.
